Setting up your subscriber list

1) If you need to upload a previous subscriber list, choose the option for an existing list (A).

2) If you just starting out your subscriber list then choose to manually add email addresses (B).

And if you are creating your first list, remember that we all have to start somewhere, don't let this process be daunting, eventually your list will grow!

Note: Don't forget to use the form feature with your account. With this feature you can create an online subscriber form for your website, allowing visitors to subscribe to your newsletter.

Also, using relevant, convincing information to entice a website visitor to sign up for your newsletter will make a difference, rather than just simply providing a form with no description of the value of your newsletter.

Good placement of your subscription form and corresponding images will attract more attention, too, and soon you'll see more people on your subscriber list.

1) Here you have a lot of power to organize the information submitted by your readership.

When uploading a subscriber list, export your spreadsheet as a csv file - either comma or tab delimited so that your spreadsheet will export with either a comma or a tab to separate the columns or sections of information.

When you import your list, the Bluebird Courier system will recognize your sections of information and allow you to customize each section with a text field, a number field, a date field, an email field, etc...

Organizing the information now will help you if you want to personalize your newsletters in the future.

You can also use customer information submitted to you to set up autoresponders for such occasions as a subscriber's anniversary or birthday. More about autoresponders in a soon to come online guide.

Use your customer profiles to find out what your customers are interested in, what would help you serve them better with your products, services, or outreach message. You will see what links they clicked on most and what newsletters you've sent them, among other information collected.
