Email Newsletter
Planning Services

Planning will help you increase your readership and reach your goals.

You may have a strategy you’ve developed organically. Or you have yet to send your first email newsletter. Some may be prepared to approach the planning stage with a stack of work — analysis, customer profiles, content sources, and an outline of goals.

Wherever you find yourself with your newsletter campaign, let’s work together to develop a strategy, and if needed, integrate an existing promotion into your email campaign.

Planning services are on a per-hour basis, and as with all per-hour charges, I will work with you and your budget.

Developing Strategy
Starter Package

The first steps to developing any campaign strategy would be to analyze: 1) What would you like to offer or convey? 2) Who do you want to reach? 3) And then what are your goals for your audience? From this point, we can work together to help you reach your goals.

For the starter package, I will work with you to:

  1. Optimize your delivery
You have many options to make sure you're noticed within the "inbox". The inbox is a busy space — it is important to consider what your readers see when they find you in their list of emails and then open your newsletter. Making your message readily apparent will keep your subscribers interested and keep them from unsubscribing.

  2. Help you customize your Preference Center and Subscriber Form
Change the look and feel of the preference center page so it matches your brand, as well as input any custom fields you'd like within your subscriber form.

  3. Integrate Google Analytics
If you want to use or are using Google Analytics, you'll want to take advantage of this powerful tool. Not only can you track the links subscribers click within your newsletter, find out where your subscribers navigate most, or least, once they reach your website. Gain insights as to how to make more effective newsletters.

  4. Customize your Forward to a Friend page
So that it matches your organization's brand.

  5. Archive your newsletters
Set up your newsletter archives on your website.

Seriously Building
Audience

Listed here is an outline of other options to consider when further developing a strategy. I could work with you accomplish these items:

Focusing your efforts

Further developing the details — analyzing your needs and goals and the features of your offerings, as well as understanding the industry standards, will refine goals towards a successful campaign. This will drive the look and layout of your newsletter, too.

Establishing reliable sources of content

Make sure the content is relevant. Having a realistic strategy for developing content considering your resources will make for smooth implementation of your newsletter. And as well, help you understand the timing of your emails.

Determining what type or types of email you should send

Perhaps at times you need to be more informative, or at times you may want to send out a quick message, a reminder, a tip or quote of the day. When trying to maintain a relationship with your readership, determining the best type of email is important. Using a variety of email types will keep your message fresh and help retain customers.

Planning a sequence and/or frequency of your newsletter deliveries.

Let's experiment with best times to deliver your newsletter based on your business and audience. If your using a variety of emails, we'll set up a sequence that best suits your needs.

Newsletter testing and execution

Have different approaches you're thinking about with your newsletter? I can help you build these different approaches and set up an A/B testing delivery. Change the subject line or the message within the body of your email for the campaign you're testing. And then we can measure the results and discuss how to further develop your newsletter.

Page landing designs

You've enticed your reader to the web page - send them immediately to the page relevant to your newsletter. I can develop landing pages to augment your message and help you meet your bottom-line goals.

A strategy is a work in progress as your business needs change. It is important to track your results and use this most valuable tool. You can continue aspects of your campaign while changing or adjusting other aspects. We can work together to review your reports and further plan your email campaigns, and in this way develop better newsletters to help you realize your efforts and reach your goals.
